Depression – Listen to Learn

Our eyes receive a constant flow of information from which we learn a great deal about the world around us. Every now and then, when given an opportunity, our other senses provide exquisite poignancy and demonstrate the power of our ‘mind’s eye’.

In this post we take an opportunity to ‘listen to learn’. The moving dialogue between 12-year-old Cameron and his father, Bob, who suffers depression, presents a unique opportunity to understand depression. The story ‘Sit With Me – an anatomy of a depression’ was presented by the ABC Radio program ‘All In The Mind’ and documents the work of Mike Bernstein. Cameron’s story reminds us that all of us will, at some stage, be relating with peers who suffer depression.
